I'd like to come along with a chum. I bought my Coupe a couple of weeks ago and am in the process of replacing the cam belt.
If anybody has a set of cam clamps I could borrow for a few days I'd be very grateful.Would like to chat to any members who have worked on Coupes. So far the alternator is dead...one front brake pad has the lining separated from the backing plate....I'm wondering what I might find next...!!!

It's wierd, the car is on perminant trickle charge, and as soon a MOT time comes around it throws it's airbag light out of it's pram! Fortunately, it was after the test this time around though.

I may have one too. I'm chasing an occasional idle problem, and haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

Spent a few hours refurbing the headlamps. Nothing like a deadline to focus the mind !

Took quite some effort to get rid of the old lacquer.

I've used 600, 800 and 1500 wet n dry paper, then a rain-X headlamp restore kit. Loads of elbow grease, so I ended up using a drill and spinning cloth attachment. SO much quicker.

All you can do at this stage is go into the meeting Chrissy, and if you let me know your details in the next day or so you will be able to do a couple of runs up the Test Hill.

Admission on the day is £16 per person, more details here.

Reminder

If you are due to take part in the Parade Laps or Test Hill runs you need to take your driving licence with you.

Without it you will not be allowed on the MB World track or the Test Hill.

Just catching up on this thread, and a little suggestion, maybe keep the "track spot" list to the members area of the forum.
Why bother with people putting their names down on the basis of "those who haven't done it before" if they only going to be elbowed out for members that have??

In a normal year when there are just 3 or 4 spots open for coupes on track with other cars we do try to put members who have not been on the MB World track first.

However this is not a normal year.

As part of the 20th anniversary of the Fiat Coupe in the UK, AutoItalia is prepared to promote the car. Hence why there is a special session for 10 Coupes along with 10 GTVs which are also celebrating 20 years in 2015.

It is important that the club takes the opportunity to show both the paying public at AutoItalia Brooklands, and the magazine as large a selection of models and colours as possible.

This we have done.

The demonstration is not for the benefit of us owners who know what the cars are like, but to promote the model among the wider public.

Next year, when less than half the number of spaces will be available, we will revert to our usual practise of giving MB World virgins a go whenever possible.

As MrC points out, it also helps to be a club member.

Just a thought for anyone who goes to Brooklands Museum more than 3 times a year.

If you take out individual membership of the Brooklands Trust you get free admission to all events apart from premium ones such as AutoItalia where you pay a much reduced rate.

£2 for AutoItalia this year.

The membership subs start off at £33 per year for individual membership. Bit of a no-brainer for me.

I'll be turning up with my car (and son) and I imagine that we will all be parking together. I'll be travelling to the event independently and was wondering if there a defined location for the park-up? I see that the best time to arrive would be around 9am to miss traffic etc.
