Hi whilst im in rant mode something thats been bugging me for a while

My Genuine Plus grill does not curve the same amount as my genuine plus bumper, although i have seen some images on here, where they appear perfect! I dont believe it is panel alignment issues as its the same when not fitted on the car the grill just seems to be a lot straighter!

Anybody got any ideas?

cheers

Missing the central locating lug on the bottom of the grill?

This a photo from when I first got the car with the original bumper the new plus bumper is exactly the same the lugs are missing but trying to flex the grill to follow the line of the bumper requires a fair bit of force, something I don't think the lugs could withstand?
Is it possible that due to the missing lugs and heat cycles and ultra violet radiation that's it has stiffened up slightly straighter than it should be?
It is quite noticeable on many other people's cars too, the ones that line up being the rare exception I beleive!
Cheers rich

Looks normal, they just don't line up very well. Depends on how the top of the bumper was painted as to how much you notice it.

You have two choices from what I can see:

Re-drill the lower mounting holes so the tabs pick up the new holes a little further forwards. You may also have to slot the holes in the slam slam panel to allow it to move forwards a few mm and shim out the two side plugs.

You can just see the shims on the upper/outer mounts in that picture and that the slam panel has had the holes slotted to allow it to move forwards slightly.
That got me a grille that would sit flush with the unpainted line.

Or

Paint the bumper to match the grille shape.

Option two would be the neater solution.

Dazvr6 No problem

Its totally painted now so not so noticeable but now im concentrating on tidying up under the bonnet it just had me curious and wondered if there was anything obviously out of alignment!

Looking good Jimbo!

The wheels were Lenso, can't remember the model number though.

No longer my car, she was sold last month.
