Hi just thought I'd see if any one can help me I've just rebuilt my standard turbo but added a 360 trust bearing and staggered oil seal but now I have oil driping out of where you bolt the hot side housing on ,today I've rebuilt it again using a different core housing which is like new and its doing it again ,I said if it didn't work today that's it for me and the coupe as I've spend to much money and most importantly time so if anyone has had this happen to them please help frown

Turbos need balancing after a rebuild.

Otherwise its a temporary repair at best .
Some 360 bearings require shims if the casing is worn and others require machining depending on the size .

Its been balanced bud and wouldn't a shim would of came in the rebuild kit , I'm really stuck ,would the 360 bearing require a restrictor in the oil feed now?only other thing I can think is when I was rebuilding putting the sump on I seen that the bigger plastic pipe that tees into the turbo intake was snapped underneth the thermostat so I used a thin joiner out of a piece of metal I had and reconnected it??

The best thing to do is remove the turbo and send it to a specialist
Cr turbo
Or tdi turbo

Its something turbo related so may be worth getting them to have a look.
They will also collect from your address.

Might be the staggered seal if you have slightly mis-shaped it or over stretched it when fitting, simply pushing it back into the housing until it clicks into position might not be enough.
