Sounds like you should have a quick check on the condition of the loop at the end of the cable before it gets any worse and breaks....

yep i just did a how to search and found that post about it, gone have a look tonight. seemingly you can open de bonnet from the outside of the car using a 6 bit key. will have a look to how that's supposed to work incase my cable does break.

I bought one before they put the price up.
Much better than the rusty old thing, one thing less to refurb. and the new adjuster works a treat.
Money well spent.

For the wire loop - sleeve with Raychem or glue shrink and it will last much better.

If your cable has broken it can be fixed to the point of being better than the factory RHD installation.
I`ll post on this thread later showing what you need to do this.
I bet LHD cars had far fewer instances of bonnet release cable failure because the installation wasn`t flawed for LHD?

Sleeve on cable.

If cable broken, get one of these from your friendly model aircrafter, fill arrowed end with epoxy, insert cable end which you have cut to correct length, crimp also - use vice and small nail if you don`t have a crimper.
Add 2 washers and 2 nuts and you have a better mechanism.

Cant say that I've tried fitting it yet, however looks exactly the same so cant imagine why it wont fit. Get one while they are for sale, as your never get a new one again!!!
