Can't open the link won't let me not sure why! As for the boost gauges I think it's down to your own taste. I had one in mine looked nasty so I just went and got one that I liked. Not too sure if better makes do anything different, I prefer psi to bar so I swapped mine over.

Works now! Am I right in thinking it's essentially a bleed valve? Theirs people on here selling digital boost controllers, suppose it depends what you want to do. I had a bad but fun experience with a bleed valve, it got stuck open!!

Well that's my query really buddy don't wanna get a bleed valve I already have one in the shed but tbh is ok on my rs turbo as it was tuned every 6 months on a rolling road set up but I'm not ready for a remap yet so thought I'd try one o those prv's and a boost gauge

Hmmmmmmm I'd rather buy the right thing in the first place tbh I only said about that as it was a combo but thinking bout it a Dawes is only 14.99 and seen gauges for 14.99 too so might purchase separately

Cheers mate

by all means install a boost guage but if you're car has a standard chip in it and you don't have any boost issues i wouldn't be installing a prv as it won't give any benefits at all

in fact the ecu will loose the ability to cut boost if it detects a problem and also you will find the prv less smooth than the standard ebv that is in the car

the standard car is set to boost to 1.0bar, i wouldn't go messing about with boost levels via the prv without an uprated chip and fuelling check

I need to inspect it if it's not either of the ones reccomended on this very forum il be binin it and purchasing a gtec or the other one

if it's got an aftermarket chip in it i would definately advise getting a boost guage so you know what it's boosting to

if it's a gtech 1 it should raise the boost to 1.2bar, again if its boosting fine and not spiking i would keep the standard ebv as having had both the standard ebv and a prv in my car it drives much nicer with the former

and lastly i would advise getting the fuelling checked on a rolling road even if it is the gtech 1 chip to check that everything is ok

I had a PRV on my last coupe, I had it set at 1.1 or 1.2 bar depending how I felt and the weather (more boost in winter) also same as standard 20VT overboost.
Other than that I had a K&N, a decat exhaust and a basic hybrid turbo (ie better seals but not better spec). I had it rolling road tested and the fueling was fine power output was 270bhp and it was much smoother than the standard EBV.

As I understand it though most people seem to go for programmeable boost controllers and/or a flea map.

The latter two would produce better results but would cost more, so up to you really.

I'm going have a look see what chip it's got in it!!

Well I was going get a fleamap eventually anyway but I wanted to get a few bits before I do GT28R turbo and FMIC and SIP and then have it all mapped up but also gotta couple of things I need to sort leaky gearbox seal and I've gotta little boost pulse also

Obviously I need a boost gauge to see what's goin on and this also had a mbc with it so thought might aswell but if it's not a prv I don't wanna just whack the boost up really it needs to be safe and I've read the prv's are good

Be better of with an EBC (controller and gauge in one).
Flea could the use it with the GT28R.
