Following on from Webbo's post, he has asked me to pick up the reigns on this one, due to the decided location, its a bit out of Webbo's way.

So the date will be Sunday July 27th and the venue is the Grasshopper Inn in Kent. It's very close to the M25 as this map of the area shows. We can meet in the car park from 11.30 onwards. The pub does a rather nice carvery roast and can accomodate all of us, plus more. Non FCCUK members are welcome, as are partners, children and pets.

I'm a maybe, the proposed date is 2 days before my birthday so i might be doing other things.

Sorry to sound stupid but i just wanted to check a few things. I only a member of the forum not yet the FCCUK does this mean its still okay for me to come along? Also i take it we can bring our partners along to?? And finaly (lol) what is the like, layout of the day... just what to expect etc, like all meeting at the grasshopper inn at 11.30 then whats the plan etc. sorry for all the questions just wondered as it'll be my 1st time !!! lol

Without knowing the details, Anthony, if this follows previous meets, it's not a club do, just an owner's get-together. There will probably be a short run where speed limits will be scrupulously enforced (yeah right ) and afterwards I rather suspect that bonnets may be opened.

They do tend to be rather informal events.

To answer:

This is open for everyone, not just members, partners are invited too.

We tend to meet at 11.30 in the car park, normally a few weeks before hand, people start to organise a drive / convoy to get there, so look out for them and join one of them if you like.

We stand around for an hour or so - rain or shine, kick tyres, lift bonnets, talk cars, etc. Then go for some grub, the return out to the cars and repeat the first part.

People start to drift off from 3/4 ish

And thats pretty much it in a nutshell....

Obviously their is one tradition you have to follow, being a newbie as you are, and thats buy the organiser a beer and lunch

The majority of people who responded to the poll chose that day.

TOTB does not float everyones boat, but those who want to go to it will.

Sounds good, and i take it partners can come as i no my btter half would love to come to, bit gutted tho, my last coop had the italian flag painted on the rocker cover and look the bee's knee's lol, now its just peeling black as the red was peeling before that (according to the last owner) so i need to start saving to get the rocker cover done but oh well. Is anyone taking there Widget gismo? Last time I went to the meet and it was plugged in it told me I was only getting 56% throttle.

Accel cable has been replaced so it would be handy if I could test it again, for a beer of course!

If anyone is taking widgets (im not sure what that is, i only know john smiths have them in a can ) i would like mine checked, plus if it can clear air bag lights that would be good if someone can do that for me, for a beer like tonyd20vt mentioned

Highwayman has a handheld code checker thingy. The last time we tried to rig up a barnacle widget to a donor car it didn't work as I think the power supply had to come from the donor car or something.

Some good news and bad news on this meet...

Firstly some good news, its looking to be a huge meet.

Then some more good news, I have spoken to the manager at the pub and he is happy for us to be there, we need to park up the far end of the car park, like last year (furthest from the pub)

Then the bad news, well bad for me, it may make even more people turn up I am unable to go In a rather strange turn of events, I have managed to book a holiday right over the top of the meet. DOH!

But everything will continue as before I hope

All welcome, that's why I'm bringing it.

I might bring a microwidget, too, and show off the star trek software too. For coupes, star trek only does 16v and 16vt, but I'm currently expanding it and it can talk to punto/siecento/cinquecento/lancia Y with single point injection, now, too... also (untested) probably multi-point injection FIRE engines, too, but the error reporting will likely be wrong.

Based on that, I'm working on the MK5 widget which will be able to cover a *huge* range of fiats. It's a complete rewrite of the interface code, much more modular, though it doesn't have the pretty picture at start-up any longer but the target list is:
IAW16F - SPI FIRE engines
P8PQP - twin cam two litre, NA and turbo
M2.10.4 - coupe 20v, some Alfa
IAW18F - MPI FIRE engines, alfa boxer, palio
MA1.7.3 - Tipo, Y11 12v engines
M1.7 - Alfa 155, 164
M2.7 - Punto GT, turbo, thema TC, kappa TC
plus anything else I can think of, program space and enthusiasm permitting...

And that work will probably find its way back into the start trek software, so it cross-fertilises both ways.

I have an idea the ECU is used on at least one Duc, but I really don't know... which ecu is yours? And does it have the same three-pin connection?

We're pretty much a definate no now. Will be at a car boot sale trying to get rid of things we aren't taking to Canada. Shame, would have been nice to meet up with everyone before our imminent departure overseas.

I'm suggesting to Danirv that I meet him in Cheriton Tesco's at 10.00am and travel up from there. Would in theory get to Maidstone Village Hotel at about half hour later at approx 10.30-40. Can then travel on to Grasshopper from there?
