Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 21/08/2015 11:49

Are we entering as exhibitors or spectators? I dont mind either, although, as an exhibitor I will need to wash and hoover the car!!

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 21/08/2015 11:54

Not sure mine's good enough to exhibit!

Can you polish out rust?

smile

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 21/08/2015 13:00

Mines not really upto standard but who cares right? Rust is good. You can cover it in club stickers maybe?

I've registered, as an exhibitor! Also clicked the button for the parade accidentally. Will try to get out of that. 4 weeks to sort rusty arches, clean and shine as much as possible. Or not.

Word of advice when completing the registration form, choose '1' when it asks how many people are you registering. The question should read, 'how many cars are you registering?'

Well done. I'll register my Coupe tomorrow.

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 26/08/2015 15:39

UPDATE:

Just spoke to the organisers. There are already 700+ cars registered, which sounds good. They have kindly added FCCUK to the list of classic car clubs !!! You need to scroll to the bottom of the list, but it is there !! Now you just need to register and pay yer dosh for a very good cause.

Just for info, the show used to be held at Tredegar House which ran for over 30 years. Example (a bit cheesy): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oifTbWOazC0

It is now run by leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk with a venue change to Margam Park, also just off the M4.

We should be able to display together, so if anyone has an FCCUK Club flag, please bring it.

Looking forward to seeing you there. thumb

Please list your name once you've registered.

Would love to attend and meet up with you folks again, but it's the missus birthday and on the list of things she may do, there's nothing to do with cars included on it.

Hope you have a great day.

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 16/09/2015 07:18

Sadly I'm unable to travel the North Sea and enjoy your company in beautiful Wales this time. The memories of last years' event are very special.
To make it worse I know that my NBF will be around as well (possibly wearing a Dutch football shirt) and a newly wed proud father from down under who's wedding pictures I would love to see.
Wish you lots of fun. And Schumi: good job organising the event.
Warm Blistering greetings from Sicily. bye bye

Regrettably....... You know whats coming next don't you frown

going have to take a rain check on the meeting.

I've been invited down to west wales today to watch the rugby with family which will mean plenty of food and particularly drink so will need to stay the night.

Hope you have a nice day and hopefully see some vids posted on the forum of the grand day out?

Your Coupes look great.

It's a massive show ground!

What was your favourite car there (apart from the Coupés' of course)?

(Have accumulated many brownie points today on the Mrs birthday) smile

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 20/09/2015 19:34

It was a great weekend - Thanks Toby and Anna for putting us up!

My favourite car at the show was that Tangerine coloured Jensen Interceptor FF (engine bay shot above). It was MINT.

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 21/09/2015 10:12

It was a great venue. The house and grounds are stunning.

Just as well it wasn't today though. It is absolutely peeing down.

Fav cars on show:

Merc Gullwing
Jensen FF
Triumph GT6
Mustangs
Cobras
Pontiac fire bird and trans am
Couple of Alfa gtvs

Plenty of modern stuff too. Lots of RS turbo and STs.
Mint Mk1 escorts.

Fairly easy site to get in and out of. Only minor queue at start.

Perhaps we can make it an annual FCCUK event..

Re: Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th Sept - 21/09/2015 10:54

Indeed, had a good day, nice to meet fellow cloud9, although I didnt ask anyones forum names, silly boy. And sorry I wasnt around so much, had to try and keep the wife happy for 8 hours, not an easy task.

Not sure it would've been so fun if it rained. I've got lots of piccies, will upload later at home.

The Jensen was amazing. Looked like a brand new car. He wasn't shy with the loud pedal either by all accounts. Great back story with it too.

+1 for doing it again.

So many nice cars, but the Stratos wins the show for me. Not sure if it was real or a kit, I dont care, it was lush.
