S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November

S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 11/09/2014 13:48

Following on from last weekend's Honnington meeting I was 'volenteed' so I am starting up a list for a Sunday lunch meeting at The White Bear, Fairchildes Road, Warlingham, Surrey CR6 9PH. Recommended by a number of people although I haven't been there yet. It has a good sized car park and is off the beaten track but popular.

I'll set this thread to run until the end of September and contact the pub with provisional numbers. After that we'll need to firm up things prior to the day.

The day was chosen as it was thought suitably far enough away from Christmas not to interrupt people's personal pre-Christmas plans!

Let's hope this pub understands the meaning of the word "service" wink

Re: S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 13/10/2014 18:00

Dear All,

Booked a table for a tentative 18 which will suit all comers currently, including those of you who are yet undecided.
If you could firm up one way or another but the end of October that would be great.

If anyone else would like to join us then they are most welcome. I'll simply add to the numbers with the pub.

Re: S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 14/10/2014 11:04

John,

I booked for 1:00 pm. Suggest meeting up about 1/2 hour before hand. Also since it's the 'off-season' I expect to see quite a lot of 'alternative wheels' !!! Although I should still be in the Coupe.

As it's just down the road, it'd be rude not to.

Please add me.

I will be there, but probably won't be eating.

Pondman - if you don't object, I will take and bring some footage of the pond I have unearthed for your expert consideration over a pint!

Hi Chris,

Out of courtesy, just to let you know, unfortunately, due to sickness, it will be just Oliver and I on Sunday. Rugby training finishes at 12:00 so we will head on after that, not too muddy I hope wink

Regards, Ross.

Re: S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 28/11/2014 20:04

Mr Barnacle has the choice of a 20vt Cupra with an engine warning light; a Bravo with an engine light *and* limp home mode; a Coupe with no engine; or a kit with an engine but without any tax.

Oh well, one of them ought to be moving by Sunday! If not, my apologies in advance.

Hi Chris,

I will be able to make it now, so that's one of Pondman's 2 unneeded places taken.

Thanks for the info Ross, so sorry the ladies won't be joining us! Neil, hope you'll be able to make it and Pete, great news!- wouldn't be the same without you.
I haven't been here before but looking forward to it-see you then.
Hopefully the coupe will start after months not going anywhere but if will be the Spider's last trip of the year if not!
See you on Sunday.

Re: S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 29/11/2014 15:01

Just heard from the White Bear.
They are very busy tomorrow and rang to ask if we wanted to pre- order any roasts to ensure that we don't wait interminably or miss out. Other food is available but two parties of 15+ are arriving before us as well as the usual 2,4 and 8 person covers.
I'm offering people the the chance to let me know and I'll ring through as required. Sorry for the short notice but they've only just rung!
See you tomorrow and let me know if required what food you think you might like- I suggest you look at the menu online.

yes I saw your PM and have relayed all the meal orders received.
Rang last night and all should be OK since they have now bought on more meat to cope with extra demand.

Re: S. East Christmas Meeting: Sunday 30th. November - 01/12/2014 08:06

A good choice of venue (now we all know where we can find it!).

Great to meet up again and good to meet and chat to everyone. It makes the gap between September and March/April seem shorter.

More severe overboosting with the Blitz on the way back- I must get it sorted!!

Have a good Christmas and see everyone in 2015.
