16VT Live Map on the road - 28/06/2015 17:49

Yesterday my coupe was remapped on the road.
The current specs off the car:

  • stock turbo
  • stock injectors
  • 3.8bar fpr
  • 300l/h fuel pump + wiring mod
  • FMIC
  • Kappa intake Manifold
  • Tubular exhaust manifold
  • Coupe NA Intake Camshaft
  • Coupe 16VT Intake Camshaft installed as Exhaust Camshaft
  • 3" Exaust

I'm very pleased with my standard engine and turbo's result. It could produce a little more if the head was ported. There is a Lancia Dedra 16VT with the same setup but ported head that produced 292hp. The next step will be a bigger turbo and some other engine mods smile

That sounds like a great set up you've got there, but I SERIOUSLY doubt your turbo is stock, I think it's more likely your running a t3 super 60, which will barely look any different to the stock t3 turbo!
My car made 305 bhp with a super 60, but I also had headwork and cams...,
Where you get max torque would have been slightly earlier with stock turbo also I would have thought!
Great result though buddy...

My turbo is not T3 super 60, it's the stock coupe T3 turbo smile

If it runs well that's great, it certainly makes pretty good top end for a std turbo. I would not treat the figures quoted as gospel though.

Is that a software based g-force "dyno" Or has it been on a proper roller dyno? Those numbers seem way high on stock compressor..

It's a software dyno but with the right calibration the difference between it and roller dyno is up to 5hp. Here is a a Lancia Dedra remaped by the same person with ported head and stock fiat coupe turbo on a proper dyno wink

Get it on some real rollers! Seems a very good result.

During the winter, I've made a complete rebuild of my engine and before installing a bigger turbo, my car was remapped again on the road with the stock turbo to get the best result we can. My current setup is:

  • stock turbo
  • stock injectors
  • 3.8bar fpr
  • 300l/h fuel pump + wiring mod
  • FMIC
  • Kappa intake Manifold
  • Tubular exhaust manifold
  • Coupe NA Camshafts
  • 3" Exaust
  • Ported head with new bronze guides
  • Wössner pistons
  • Cometic head gasket 12 mm head bolts
  • maxSpeeding rods
  • King Racing bearings
  • 22mm timing belt

That's the result with the PerfExpert(smartphone dyno which actually is quite accurate)

On wheels:

Today I decided to get the car on some real rollers. The red line is my last setup. The hall where the dyno is has really bad ventilation and all the exhaust gases fill it....Anyway the result was 258 hp on the wheels and when add the drivetrain power loss, the final result is almost the same as the smartphone dyno. I think that we achieved some of the best results for stock turbo.
