coupe arb what else fits

hi all
im after a front arb
ive allready got a rear
im struggling to get just the front
are the alfa 147 the same as the coupe
i know a couple of alfa place that have just front 26mm eibach arb's are these the same as the coupe 20vt ones
or if you have a front coupe 26mm arb pm me

Lancia Dedra is the easiest front ARB upgrade - small amount of chopping needed to the exhaust heatshield, but otherwise a straight bolt-on job

147 arb WILL not fit mate!!

Unless you want to change the drop links to a hole new set up.

You can do what Nigel said or buy an eibach kit?

The Alfa 145 arb's are the same design as The 20vt.

This is how i fitted my Alfa 156's Eibach 26mm ARB, on my rear - i did FWD to RWD and 26mm front arb is too much......i don't want to spend extra for Coupe/145/146/Bravo ARB, that's why i did this conversion.
And IMO it better arb to be linked with the hub and shocks......

In the UK the Fiat marea 2.0 comes with this type of arb. Not sure of the thickness though.

You fitted 26mm ARB at the rear , is that right?
and which size at the front?

26mm on the rear must make it very pointy - I have 23mm and I'm going for 24mm soon, but the understeer is almost gone

Note that I don't run an uprated front ARB - this just promotes understeer, so I sold the Dedra ARB and reverted to standard

Yes, 26mm at the rear of the car - have in mind that it's mid engine car(not yet, but fingers crossed), balance of the car will be about 45%front, 55% rear, and with RWD you need stiffer ARB at the rear.......front will be 24mm.....
26mm is not too much at the front of a FWD car, with heavy front end. It's great upgrade for a mighty Coupe or Alfa 156 IMO.....but i'm following different route for now - RWD 156.

sparco used the 24mm rear ARB on is timeattack car so hes the best to ask but hes not on much lately.

22 is favourite as more predictable handling.
24 can be a little unpredictable and also brackets need to be fabricated so it's a bit of a toad to fit.

Seriously though driving both variants all I noticed was the 24mm was noticeably tail happy as opposed to the 22mm in the wet
Fun but very quick to step out.
In the dry they seem to have the same characteristics from a drivers point of view.
I run a 22mm.

I run the 24mm rear ARB. The brackets are a pain to make and the rear compensator bracket requires modifying to fit over the ARB. For ease of fitment I'd go for the 22mm.

I'm about to upgrade to the 24mm (from the 23mm I've had fitted for the last six or seven years)

What brackets are we on about? - I thought the rear ARB was "free-floating" - ie only connected to the rear arms.

I imagine that there's a lot more force being transmitted to the arms, so it might require higher strength bolts, but surely, if the ARB had needed brackets, they would have been supplied

How comes your going up to 24mm Nigel I have a 23mm waiting to go on mine because how much hassle people have said about the 24 fitment

the bracket were on about are the little bracket at the upper part of the rear arms, its like two halfs around the arb,it has two bolts that fix to the upper part of the arm.
there spot welded to the original arb
there's 3 fixings at each end of the arb the bracket is the upper 2 fixing
they come with eibach ones but i dont think they do with whiteline ones
so you have to cut them off your old arb and used them on your new 24mm arb and you also have to modify the bracket for the rear compensator spring to hang off your new arb

No hassle for me - I just give it to Paul and let him skin his knuckles and curse my modding addiction....

I still want a better turn-in - its already pretty good, but I reckon it could be better, although I may have to dial a bit of the twitchiness out with some adjustments at the front end

Or add some negative camber at the rear, Sparco has some rear arms that do this!

I thought about Marco's arms, but the camber is just too severe for the 30,000 miles of road use I'll be doing

Did he have an adjustable version available too, matching the -1 deg on the front should be ok on tyre wear but keep the rear end in check with the stiffer bar.

To me

I have the dedra front arb and white line 22mm rear but I also have concentric washers for camber up front and fixed caster top mounts so I get more camber on turn in.
I have just gone to 350lb springs up front and I am swapping between 325lb and 375lb rear springs.
I don't really suffer from under steer, only push on "power under steer" if I am to eager with the throttle, my rear is pretty stable with my driving style only if I turn in hard on the brakes does it go light.
