Dodgey alarm (for a change)

Dodgey alarm (for a change) - 13/02/2015 20:40

Spent quite a while reading through the forum to try and see what's going on with the alarm. Heres what's happening....

Central locking doesn't work.
When i arm the alarm the indicators just flash and won't turn off.

This leads me to believe that the siren has been deactivated.

Is it cheaper or easier to just fit a whole new alarm and eBay central locking units or can I get the original alarm to work.

No idea if there is even an imobiliser on the car and if it works.

Key fob below. Any help would be greatfully received.

I can't see the photo as am at work, but my alarm started to do weird things when the boot sensor had come off. It is located left hand side of the boot near the ski hatch and the left hand hinge pushed against it. Start there!

That will help you with the central locking- if the locking works anyway, aside from the alarm?

The immobiliser is part of the relationship between the key and the ECU, not classically something that needs to be wired into an alarm.

(There's no way it's going to start without the key)

Looks like you have an aftermarket unit- can you locate it (if not in the usual place)?
