Perhaps it's the crunch, maybe Christmas... have the hardcore modders left the building?

I think they're all holed up in their garages plotting......

Tuning for the coupe has never been so good, but I feel it may have come 2-3years too late afterall there are only so many left in the world...

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 17/12/2008 19:16

If it makes you feel any better, as soon as I get round to fitting a decent clutch I'll be swapping to a bigger turbo and no doubt running too much boost. \:D

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 17/12/2008 19:20

Well it does actually, Matty is leading the way where absolutely zero will follow \:D Well maybe one other Matt \:P

Seriously though, I think it's fantastic to push the boundaries, I woudn't be surprised to see Matty's engine still going strong this time next year... then again I wouldn't be surprised to see it go pop tomorrow \:D It matters not, because it's great to take it to the nth degree and see what the real deal is... high boost heroes I salute you everywhere \:\)

never quiet where I am pal ;\)

you may even get a call this sat if you fancy mapping my rust bucket....it REALLY needs de-PT shitting \:\)

I've almost ironed out all the FMIC niggles / gearbox cooler mods etc...but it now runs so rich, almost 10.2afr at full pelt ( only 1 bar at present )

oh, happy x-mas \:\)

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 17/12/2008 20:17

There are more coming through when you think.

My lounge is filling with engine bits....as a beat up 20v turbo engine is slowly coming to pieces to be rebuilt as good as it can be with an aim of around 450bhp...

Some of us just keep it quite quiet...

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 17/12/2008 20:51

Its a very dirty engine at the moment thats slowly coming to pieces, so nothing that interesting yet. Each part will be treated and prepared in an appropriate way. As more of this happens ill post some pictures ;\)

Hey Flea

I'm gonna get you to map my car in the new year. Other than fitting a lovely manifold my engine bay is looking lovelier than ever - does that count as tuning?? \:D

Well Leighton, that's one way to gauge how busy you're going to be in the New Year!

In Sweden there are 3 maybe 4 cars that need mapping. Flea come to Sweden one weekend and tune our cars

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 18/12/2008 07:44

Leigthon i now have all the goodies for a fully forged rebuild so the bottoem end is going away at the weekend to the engineers. I think the bold Matty is up for trying to extract far too much from it when i get it together so that should be interesting. I'll see you at one of the time attack events i hope next year as i'll be doing them all.

Eldinho - how are you getting on with yours? I've got to buy a clutch and then get someone to put it all together.

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 18/12/2008 11:14

Engine will be built this weekend! \:o Turbo will be back with me on Monday after having the wastegate ported and compressor shroud polished! Engine will be dropped in the car shortly after christmas!

So all things being well I'm hoping end of Jan beginning of feb it will be back on the road!

The only things left to buy now are oil and a battery! and then just need the injectors and mapping once its been ran in! \:\)

What the?.. you mean there's progress?!!
Posted By: Begbie

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 18/12/2008 14:51

Yes, there is progress, everything is connected up and it's a case of trying to get the settings correct in the motec to allow this bugger to actually start, once that's done, it's odd jobs to tidy up, get it trailered off for the external wastegate to be welded on / exhaust downpipe amended, then off for some mapping ;\)

Re: Feels a bit quiet in here... - 18/12/2008 15:19

Settings adjusted via the phone with the mapper, she doesn't start, but at least the sync of the crank / distributor sensor is working now and she makes some popping and banging noises now \:D Mapper is going to hopefully do some editing this evening and mail back some new settings for me to try

Wrong thread boyo. I think you're at least 4 weeks behind in keeping your project thread up to date.
