Stock 20vt - chip install worries

Stock 20vt - chip install worries - 15/12/2023 19:19

I've got a mostly stock 20vt.
Have a chip from another mapped 20vt, apparently it was a mild tune on a stock car with original turbo. No detailed spec on the chip.

I've planned to go to a rolling road (no RR in my town - have to go to Zagreb, 160km away), install the chip, do a RR before / after with fuelling check... some unexpected tasks, bad weather and time slipped, hollidays are near and I think it'll be at least 1-2 months before I can go.

SPEC (my car)
20v turbo 1999. with 160.000km (100.000mi)
engine fine (partially rebuilt 30k mi ago), oil pressure 2bar hot, 1.5bar very hot.
head port&polish, stock valves, cams etc.
sparks NGK Laser LPG1 (n.1496 / Iridium line).
turbo stock but fitted with 360 bearing.
silicone boost and water hoses.
no boost gauge.
light weekend / fast road use - no track, long B-road blasts etc.

QUESTIONS
What can happen if I fit the chip and drive without fuelling check? ECU has knock protection, if something's way off the car will go to safe mode before damage?
After instaling, does ECU "learn" and fine tune maps; how long (km/mi) does it need to adjust?

When I go to RR, can I put back the OEM chip fot the trip, do "before" dyno, swap new chip in and redo dyno pull, or do I need to drive the car inbetween?

As a precautionary measure, would filling with 98/100 fuel be better?

Am I overthinking it? crazy

Preparing what to expect from a rolling road... smile

What is the wheel power and curve of a standard (stock) 20v turbo?

Been searching the forum for the dyno graph or a set of data, only found this

Max power should be at 5.750 rpm, what is the value (curve peak)?

All this values are PS = CV (in italian) or BHP?
1PS or CV = 0,735 kW
1HP or BHP = 0.746 kW

Don't wont to open discussion about different rolling roads, "process" for getting the crank power etc.
I'm interested in examples of measured wheel power seen by owners of non tuned 20v turbos.

This is a "dyno" of my 20vt.
I think the engine was completely stock at that moment.
