Half that price direct from me, on here.
And of course the guy doesn't mention that it should be run with an uprated intercooler due to the extra ignition advance, leaving anyone with a standard intercooler potentially open to knocking.

If you havn't got an uprated inter cooler why not get a GTec 1 direct from Graham .... Great chip and now well tested and trusted I ran one for years and years with no probs at all

I have a Gtec1 with a mushroom filter and a backbox delete.
Would I see any gains with a Gtec2 if I fitted a front mount intercooler?

Yes, a little at the top end but more low down torque due to the extra ignition advance. A hybrid turbo should see more gains than a standard one.

That might be the way forward for me then, as it feels a little laggy and like its running out of puff top end.
Should I go for intercooler/gtec2 first and then hybrid or the other way round?

The hybrid will make a much bigger difference, especially if you're (quite rightly) noticing that the standard turbo is running out of puff at the top end.
You can also run the Gtec2 with the uprated Pace side mount intercooler. A used one occasionally comes up and they're a straight swap for the standard intercooler. Not as efficient as a proper front mount but less laggy and still makes a worthwhile improvement.

Thanks for that Graham. Hadn't heard about the Pace i/c before.
I'll keep an eye out for one as I don't want to be cutting bumpers and the like if at all avoidable.

GrahamL been looking at gtec 2. am currently running hybrid turbo, gtec 1, 2.75" turbo back exhaust, cone filter but standard intercooler. 262bhp currently, would I see much more with front mount + gtec 2?

Hard to put an exact number on it, but it would definitely be better.
If you decide to upgrade the intercooler I'd be happy to send you a Gtec2 to try and you could return it if you thought it was no better than the Gtec1.
