thats the problem chap you have to have the 30 led strips - if you search on ebay you will find them (normally hong kong or china.

I too had many issues with the led strips, BUT stick with it because once its done it looks the NUTS.com.......

you'll see what I mean.

as for Ebay: I can only find this listing (so far) for 10 LED strips. for 24.99 odd which aint bad all in all, and I'm definitely sure peeps on here will buy any surplus you may have.

as for the lenses if you got any questions you can PM me (I did mine similar to the others, but added silicon to the seal.

I have cut down 48's before and it's a major ball ache, the leds are grouped in threes and if you cut them in the wrong place you lose a set. Look carefully at the copper strips inside the plastic and you should be able to see where to cut. I seem to remember i had to remove one or two led's from the start of the strip to get 27. In all, not worth the hassle.

I have used 48's for rear lights and never had an issue- I might just have been lucky but as James said they are wired in 3's and you're taking 7x3 away. Finding 30's is pretty much impossible now but the 48's are quite cheap even if you do get unlucky.

Very pleased with the end results though!

cool beans!

im still fond of the led set up, nice n cheap.

i thought of getting a set of leds and drilling holes into the cup to space them evenly but was too much of a faff.

having chopped a set of the 48 leds up, ive tried a double ring and that seems to work nicely!

btw, i managed to get the set of 3 working, but it involved cutting into the silicon and soldering etc. definitely not worth the faff!!!
