Well, the last one was fairly popular. So post the photos of your coupe.

Keep them to 640x480 as per forum rules.

Also, if anyone has a link to that great looking silver coupe from the last forums. Was pretty much stock apart from the wheels...

My Coupe.

I have put together a collage of coupe photos sent to me by forum members and gleaned from the forum. This would make a nice framed photo for home/ office. I have put my own coupe in the centre but obviously could put anyone's pride and joy in the centre. The photois very large 23Mb so the photo on Photobucket is not very good quality. If anyone is interested in a copy, let me know. Could be a sort of group buy, cheap one at that!

I have put my own coupe in the centre but obviously could put anyone's pride and joy in the centre. The photois very large 23Mb so the photo on Photobucket is not very good quality. If anyone is interested in a copy, let me know. Could be a sort of group buy, cheap one at that!

Re: Show us your Motors - 31/01/2006 20:29

Nothing major, just a big scratch on each side, a nice creasy dent on the corner of the bonnet, plus lots of stone chipping! Oh, and wheels need re-furbing too! I want to get a respray and get it all sorted but can't afford it at the moment... Plus there is some mechanical stuff that needs doing, which really should be the priority....

Unfortunately some parts under the bonnet are not painted I did not want to disassemble the engine! But the car used to be ink black, so I don't mind

GringoJimi, I bought the car privately 14 months ago. But you may have seen it at Desira Bury around that time because it was MOT'ed and had the rear brakes changed just before I bought it.

yellow_coop, I like the grey wheels with the yellow bodywork . Are they LE wheels or did you re-spray standard 20VT wheels?

Turbo is a hybrid bored out Greddy T05D with modified 20/22G internals,Tial 42mm external wastegate and screamer pipe.Custom made tubular race manifold, down pipe and exhaust system.Custom made Pace FMIC and Pace Rad built to my own size and specs by Pace in the UK.Custom made hard pipe kit.Conversion from twinspark.MAF and fly by wire throttle to 4 plugs,coilpack,2 bar map sensor and 70mm cable throttle and pedal box.Aircon motor, rad and pipework ripped out and thrown in the bin.

Blueprinted block with fully forged engine build.Solid copper gaskets throughout too.Omex 700 stand alone management system with anti-lag and Race Logic L.C and T.C systems installed.Thats just some of the spec.

No this car is not a 3.2 GTA(heavy and crap handling car) its a 1.6 litre N/A 147 that was turboed.Im in the process of building a 2nd 400bhp turbo engine for trackdays/racing etc.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Hopefully Barnacle's Widget (on list 3!)

This little lot doesn't include the the small fortune I've spent on servicing and maintenance as well!!

I have her turned down to 255bhp at the moment as I had a little incident with a scary water loss at 80mph and I'm bedding in a new clutch. Waiting for the paranoia to pass!

Shes goes well, but I want more!!!

S1MMA - I did notice that!!

Did that at the Pod back in September last year against an Elise. Was my first time there and the guy had a "Stig" style crash helmet and 4 point harness. Thought I was gonna get creamed, but it was the other way round .

Ta

Just meguires shampoo. I'd just washed the car a couple of hours before the pics. I'd waxed it too but I'm always careful not to get any on the black bits. Tell the truth they don't stay like that for long. 1st sign of salt on the roads and the sills go all patchy and grey I'm thinking of painting them (black of course) when it's a bit warmer

Re: Show us your Motors - 09/03/2006 19:21

very very nice mate. alfa hub conversion? or 4 to 5 stud spacer? What alloys are they? look like a bbs style. I think your car would look so nice with a coded grill... I know the pics make the coding look a bit iffy, but i am sure in real life (as i have one) you would like the difference.

Re: Show us your Motors - 09/03/2006 19:25

i am going for the cadamuro design grill.. like my previous coupe :

and it is a 4to5 spacer..

rims are from BMW.. from alutec.. don't know the brand really

Re: Show us your Motors - 10/03/2006 06:48

CdeK - yours looks lovely although I prefer it as it is (not a fan of the cadamuro grill tbh)

I also think that coupe's look loads better without the front number plate shame its illegal
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Show us your Motors - 10/03/2006 13:12

I had that grill on my previous coupe and i loved it.. so that's why... but i may switch from day to day.. plus grill and then cadamuro grill..

and about the numberplate.. there is going to be a sticker on the bumper.. a small one.

cheers

Are your brake discs fitted the right way round?!

Dave
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Show us your Motors - 19/03/2006 02:23

Thanks Dave. Brake discs are 3G 20 groove, it doesn't matter which way round you fit them. I put them on the "aggressive" way so they bite into the pads a bit more.

Hamster put this up in the wheels thread.

Wolfrace Twin-Blade 18"x8j ET35 PCD100 with wobbly bolts, a very close fit on the front caliper on a 20vt so I used a 3mm spacer to give a touch of clearance.

no undertray as there wasn't one on the car when i got it
no grill or mesh and the sideskirts need to be sprayed as it's a bit dark above them at the moment

still liking it so far but work in progress to say the least.

still a bit unsure on the 360 bumper at the moment as i saw a rarri 360 coming towards me and i wonder what he thought lol. but it's growing on me and it isn't very often you see rarri's.
wheels look good i must admit and they only cost me £235 and they was done in a day that included taking off tyres etc.

Still working hard on it... New rims with tires for this summer and bumpers will be hopefully colored fully with rest of the car, waiting on a pair of lester skirts and LE bumper pieces to arrive (hopefully very soon) and some styling will be done on the engine also ...

And here's some pics from a Italian car meeting we have in Finland every summer called Bella Italia

Is this just a spray can type of paint? Also, did you have to remove the lights? They do look good.

Also, is there a legal issue in the UK with colouring your lights like this, anyone know?

also i just noticed you got the same wheels as me wouter, good choice

Re: Show us your Motors - 09/04/2006 23:26

You just have to make sure you don't put it on too thick and they'll be OK, done this to a couple of cars in the past.
You can T-cut them for a good shine too, and I found this helps the light to show through too.

Re: Show us your Motors - 10/04/2006 00:22

Here in holland it's illegal but I never had problems with it.
You can simply spray it on by yourself, you have to remove the light and sray it a few times with the special light paint.

Hi Alan no the sunroof is a Fiat Original fitment. I think it cost £250 new? but could have been £500. There's something up with mine as it makes the most terrible noise after 110. Not that it should matter of course
The only option is to open it However obviously it's only a problem occasionally I don't get in to 3 figures except on m'ways.

Its the new George Formby grill I'm developing. Slip a couple of sausages in there, drive around for 30 minutes and hey presto the bangers are ready, I'm still struggling with the manifold potato roaster though.

Top up my glass with the ribena from the washer bottle and I've got a full hearty meal.

The 10 cover are for the members of italian Club...but I can ask to the president if is possible to buy from England too.

The price is of about 180 euro, without shipping cost

I'll try and get some pics soon of that Tango coupe 20vt LE with plus body kit (tasty vents on the bonnet) design was good (I thought)

As for the white 20VT with LE or Plus Kit --> I'll Jump outta my LE do a little should Kaese (cheese in german) and get some pics as he is bewildered and wondering what's going on

Re: Show us your Motors - 13/05/2006 20:40

Mine not long after i bought it last year -

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fi.../Picture006.jpg
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fi.../Picture005.jpg

With Zender Kit fitted loose prior to bonding on the skirts and rear valance -
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fiatcoupe20vt/Fiat%20Coop%20Before%20and%20after/DSC00139.jpg

I bonded the skirts on and the rear valance with Tiger Seal,to be honest i was dissapointed with the fit of the kit, expected it to fit like a glove so to speak considering it Fiat made it! , for some reason it needed a lot of messing about and small spacers sliding in at he ends of the skirts as well as the rear valance to pull it tight enough to the sills and rear bumper to reduce the gaps.

Best way to hold the skirts on while waiting for the glue to go off !
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fi.../Picture059.jpg

After a visit to the spray shop, excuse one of the front lights first time it had steamed up for some reason !

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fi.../Picture099.jpg
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f69/fi.../Picture102.jpg

All i need now is new wheels,Exhaust,coilovers.....the list goes on .......!!

Hi! I am from Sweden and are just visiting the english fiat forum Just wanted to hear what you think of my fiat coupé. It was completely orginal from beginning (both exterior looks and under the hood). They really liked it at the swedish fiat forum so it would be fun to hear what You think too

Unless I'm mistaken they are Wolfrace Twin Blades

Hamster
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Show us your Motors - 22/05/2006 15:57

Thank you all! Very fun to hear! Hamster is right, the model is called twin blade but niether the boxes that the wheels came in nor the wheel caps say wolfrace :S..all i know is that it was a bloody hell to get my hands on them :O Because i couldnt find them in sweden, denmark, germany, usa or england! And i tried a lot in england but they simply wouldnt ship over here or they didnt have it "in stock" the guys on topgear said that it was impossible to make them fit and said no no no and then hang up on me (we have different rules in sweden regarding wheel fitting) anyway on my last try in sweden i got lucky because they knew a company in england that had them in 18" so they shipped them over for me and i got a really good price too, so there you go

Nothing wrong with that, nice clean example of a 20vt.

What wheels are those - for me they're a bit "out there", but with those spokes, they must fit pass the calipers with no problem.

Strike4a - I'd just washed it, they tend to go a beautiful shade of rusty post wash....

And yes, they are 18" TSW ribs, admittedly not to everyones taste but i them, but they are a swine to clean

The exhaust is just a uni fit Savage backbox - fitted it last year to tidy up the back end as lack of funds meant the Scorpion cat back was put on hold. Looks the part, although i would prefer a more meaty rumble within the cabin - nice tone outside the car though

Took a couple of pictures at work the other night, the sun was just going down but it brought out the colour of the car quite nicely I think.

Not the best photography but it was with my phone, just thought the colour looked good

Re: Show us your Motors - 14/06/2006 23:58

Here's mine:

http://www.apqa74.dsl.pipex.com/FC/coupe1.jpg

It doesn't look too bad in this photo, but the front bumper does need a respray. One of the lips has a large crack in the paint and the bottom of the bumper looks like it's seen a few steep multi-storey carparks.
http://www.apqa74.dsl.pipex.com/FC/front1.jpg

You can tell waht I did on my day off:
http://www.apqa74.dsl.pipex.com/FC/fuelcap.jpg
I couldn't wokr out how to remove the lock barrel from the lever, any tips as I'd really like to have the same finish all over the cap.

DC
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Show us your Motors - 15/06/2006 00:10

There's a small slidey spring at the base of the barrel, you just use a small screwdriver to prise it out and the barrel will come out.
Just remove two screws to remove the lever from the cap.
Nice looking coupe by the way.

Re: Show us your Motors - 15/06/2006 00:25

Thanks, I'll give that a go on the weekend.

The car's got a few cosmetic things that need sorting but on the whole it's in good condition. Both bumpers need respraying, the skirts could probably do with a respray too. I just need to find a good local bodyshop. If anyone's got recommendations (North London) please let me know.

The door handles are rusting but I've got replacements ready to fit this weekend.

Well i've finally got mine all done after owning it for a year.
Had the bonnet totally resprayed, 360 front bumper fitted (from AutoDS), LE side skirts fitted (from Joy tuning) and a new rear bumper fully colour coded (from AutoDS) . Only thing i need to do now is get some meshing for the 360 bumper.

Here are a few pictures.

Got the strut brace some time ago actually off Swinny from these boards. Can't give you an individual price for it as i bought it as part of a group of things.
I've actually had most the engine bay done for a while, just no photoed it, so thought i might aswell put it up aswell.

Re: Show us your Motors - 09/07/2006 06:05

Thanks guys.
Took weeks to get the right yellow. Tried Lambo midas gold, Lambo sunburst yellow. Loads of blind alleys before Paints 4U in Scunthorpe gave Andy, my sprayer Lambo base chrome yellow over which he laid a modified gold pearl then 4 coats of clear. I've just taken some shots of the car but the weather let me down. Yesterday it showed a yellow so bright it hurt to stare at it, but every returned edge showed a pale orangey gold highlight. The tints are in place and the interior, including the stereo fascia plate, gearknob, speaker grilles and dash/door cappings have all been done. By sheer luck the seats are spot on the right shade!

Next up: refurbing the discs and callipers and modding the front Zender grille to accept a new Fiat van badge, colour coded to match.

Re: Show us your Motors - 09/07/2006 22:07

Well here goes. Still very new to this so hope i've done it correctly.

This is my 1998 20vt, pretty standard apart from a debadged bonnet, later grill, Momo gear knob and Brembo cross drilled discs. At the moment anyway! Its done 132k miles, but still looks in pretty good nick, even if i'm a little biased.

It is - i've just had the parking dents removed - had it mopped and the alloys re-furbed & re-coloured.

How much was the mop Blanchy i have red coop and i want it as shiny as yours.....

Re: Show us your Motors - 13/07/2006 20:19

It cost me £70 +VAT. I'd probably been able to get it cheaper elsewhere - but it was in getting the wheels re-furbed so i thought i'd get it done at the same time.

It has make a massive difference to what it was!

Re: Show us your Motors - 13/07/2006 21:02

wow its like having a respray for 70 quid, did it cover any blemishes us?
How do they do it i heard the mop moves the paint particals around but does that not ruin the laquered finish?

cheers looks good by the way.

Re: Show us your Motors - 13/07/2006 21:42

Thanks.

From what i can gather - a normal mopping would use G3 - that flattens some of the paint / laquer to take away blemishes, and is then polished up afterwards.

They guys who done mine used something called SSR (Sprayless Scratch Repair) so it doesn't take any layers off the car. The car still has very slight swirl marks in the paint - but is a lot better than it was. It has also covered up some minor scratches which was a bonus!
