Once she passes her MOT (please oh mighty God of rust, smite me not) next month, the coops going into a body shop for some TLC.
I'm having the entire front end re-sprayed (bonnet is a mess), and the black bits front and back body coloured.
I'm pondering whether or not to fit LE skirts, or get the existing skirts shot blasted and resprayed to match.
Quick photoshop mockup on normal skirts (we all know what LE looks like)

Just skirts, lips are a liability!!

I like the colour coded standard skirts.
Just skirts, lips are a liability!!
This! First coop I've had with lips. Awful crunching and loss of paint every time I reverse off the drive. If they were fibre glass they would be a right mess.
I like the look of your car with colour coded sills

Photoshop! I`m still using paint. I have crunched one time, so re-profiled drive.

You know where the lumps are on your drive, what about everywhere else? I have a Plus and am forever scuffing the bottom of the lips.

Re: Opinions please... - 23/08/2013 08:34
Thanks for the input guys... to be honest I don't like the look of lips anyway so they're a definitely no no.
I think ill see what the body shop says. If removing the black textured stuff from the skirts is going cost a lot, then ill probably go LE.
Anybody used Max Bidwell just outside Norwich? He's been recommend a few times around here.

Go back to normal ride height, won't be a problem then those lips.

Re: Opinions please... - 23/08/2013 10:45
I've been doing this with my crono after a suspension change. It got so bad that I was bottoming out on speed bumps where I live (never happened before). It actually ruined my break in the UK, I was so looking forward to getting home and driving the car. In the end, I was put off taking it out in case I really damaged something! Disappointed wasn't the word!

OK, another quick mock-up (bit crap, no Photoshop at work), this time with the LE skirts.
I can't deny it looks great!

My days of spots, spoilers&skirts are long gone, that's for sure, but that's of no importance. It's your car so you make the choices, it's like food. What I've found with skirted vehicles however, when it comes to jacking up the car having skirts can make the job not so straight forward shall we say.
Not impossible, but it's so easy to damage them.

How do the skirts impede the jacking points? Or is it more a case of the jack itself hitting the skirts on its way up/down?

Re: Opinions please... - 23/08/2013 13:16
Heres my wine red coupe with skirts etc.
You will need some wood to drive on to to get a standard jack underneath or use the low race jacks which will slide straight under.
I have recently removed mine as i the kit had took a battering from local speed bump and frankly annoying me all the while. So back to colour coding for me.

Just to conclude this thread, despite previous convictions I went with LE skirts, lips and a Zender rear lip.
Very pleased with the results

Re: Opinions please... - 19/01/2014 10:13
Haha sorry muzzy, best of luck with yours. Id be borderline killing spree if somebody did that to mine...
Had no issues with the lips despite plenty of bad roads and speed bumps recently, standard ride height seems to be the solution

Cool, look forward to some pics. Mine has the classic bumper melt so I'm toying with the idea for mine before I get the paint done.
I have to say I'm coming round to wine red. Originally not on my radar, but yours looks the part!

Re: Opinions please... - 19/01/2014 13:41
Cheers szkom, I didn't set out for a wine red initially, black is usually my colour but the only decent inky around when I was in the market was so modified my insurance through a wobbly (only 1 years no claim at the time).
Now I honestly think (except for maybe an electric blue plus) that wine red is the perfect colour. Its the classy version of the classic Ferrari red

Lovely car mate. Bigger wheels would suit such an angular body kit, the 16s look a little swamped.

Re: Opinions please... - 22/01/2014 21:01
Yeah needs bigger wheels
