I've shop soiled my Coupé

Well, after 2 and a half years of happy ownership one moment of lapse of concentration and I end up parking my coupe in a shop front! It's a total write off, but nobody is injured except me with a stiff neck. It was a vacant shop fortunately. I was changing the cd in the car and looked up to see a car stopped from nowhere, locked up, jumped the car up the curb and into a shop-front. I'm now getting thoroughly pissed and drowning my sorrows.

Sh1t unlucky Brewster, at least no-one was hurt as you say. You should get your neck checked though, muscular injuries can play havoc in later years, if not properly treated now

Well, I think I locked up the wheels and realised I couldn't miss the car in front so dodged onto the curb as it was empty. I dunno, I'm quite shocked and drunk now!

gutted too, glad no-one was seriously hurt but must re-iterate an earlier comment about getting your neck looked at - don't under-estimate the damage low speed accidents can cause!
are you sure it's a write off though, i'm sure carlt can come up with the parts for it?

It would need pulling straight as the front left is well pushed in. I'm assuming it could be rescuable with the right cash, but it might be a wise idea to scrap it, take the insurance money and start again with a newer one.

Brewster, that is dreadful news. I'm really glad you're not hurt (though DO get your neck looked at), but you must be absolutely gutted. I hope it happened for a reason and that now is the time to move on to something better.

Thanks for all the kind messages (and the p!ss-takes). I'm on the lookout for a runabout car' sub £1k to tide me over. Prefferably a 205GTi 1.6. I was sniped on a decent one on ebay this morning If anyone knows of anything it'd be great if they got in touch. I've checked eBay and Auto Trader to no avail. As for the coop, it's all the hands of the insurance company now. I hope it's all sorted soon.
