Plenty of time yet Joe I can't even open the door, judging by the forecast it'll be Monday before I can get in!

Mines an every day car, so my solution for years is to never use the handbtrake, don't bother locking it and try to remember not to open the windows

Plenty frost up here but I have a garage. When in my car I operate the handbrake up and down a few times and I tend to lubricate things several times.

Guilty. Mine is a garage queen. It is in many pieces though so I done worry about frozen locks etc. Maybe next winter!!! If I get it all back together in the correct order.

Couldn't get in, when I did, slow to start, ages to defrost screen, rear screen in Arctic, frozen handbrake great, its stops car sliding down drive, hands cold, engine on so long to warm up that the car filled with fumes, nearly backed into bins, wing mirror being duckies.
Only good thing is the Cambelt which was changed, and probably didn't need doing.
Happy now Joe ?
But I still felt good going for a drive.

Took off the cover on Monday, started her up after about 10 days then took out the heater fan to squirt some WD in to stop it squeaking.
Cover back on which kept this morning's dusting of snow off it, ready for Carlisle on Saturday

Normally doesn't get cold enough to worry about things like frozen handbrakes etc. although of course it lives inside until needed! This week however, we have a few frosty nights, but still not a problem.
Don't have a problem with frozen locks either - actually I don't think I have locked a car at home for the past 7 years. Our gates are locked all the time so it doesn't seem worthwhile!

Just to keep Joe happy - my door locks are frozen and the doors themselves are frozen shut so I can't get in to find out that the handbrake cables are frozen. Oh and the boot lock is frozen. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Got up at 5 to take son into work in the trusty citreon only to find clutch/g/box frozen up (went through a flood recently so maybe cause) only car 'accessible' on the drive was the coop. Eventually opened passenger door, 4 inches of leaves frozen to windows/top of car, looked like it was in military combat mode, got about 2miles before having to use brakes, serious delay then scruncing sound followed by braking and weaving on the ice, no harm done but could be an expensive start to the day! Couple of hours later 'engine workshop' warning light came on in the VW! Just stay at home.

Wifey slithered her way to the gym in the daily Coop this morning - on tenterhooks regarding a call and sigh of relief when she came cheerily through the door - not still in the Coop I hasten to add !

<cough cough> we saw you swearing at your doors that wouldn't open behind the hotel
And come to think of it, Simon's car wasn't all that happy to lock itself.
Jim, you might want to *not* lock the fuel filler once you've filled up! The barrel can fill with water and then freeze locked... and kneeling at the back of the coupe with your face frozen to the filler cap is not a good look.

Aye the car park at the rear of the hotel was very open to the cold blast, I never gave it a thought probably due to the warmer stuff last year. I wasn’t swearing I was in disbelief mode, I never gave the fuel cap any thought either, I couldn’t believe that was frozen when I spotted a petrol station with a decent price. I was in very relaxed mode as well on Saturday night for some reason.

True, but probably for the reason that the plibber is very picky about where you hold it - pointing it at the bottom of the A pillar is about the only workable place

Here on Skye there's no real snow, but there's a lot of rain on top of frozen roads, sheet ice in places!

Quite surprised BB fired up this morning especially as it's had no cover on since returning from Carlisle.

I'm surprised it still has wheels on it after being in Carlisle!
I used to have a very handy tool that Her Majesty issued to me that assisted motorists with frozen door locks. But, funny thing is, there's no pleasing some folks, you should have heard them grumble about one wee tweensy weensy window missing!
