Felt a little bored in my lunch break. Called my insurance company and told them a lie that 2 other company’s had offered a cheaper insurance. I said that I would not change company without asking my usual first,--- Originally there was no possibility of discount of any kind because of BHP>220 etc. After just 30 sek.,she offered me a reduction from app. 1100 £ /year to 650 £/year and guess what,- I accepted.

My wife was 'shopping around' befor ewe went on holidayas her renewal had incresed with Direct line. When we got back pf fholiday the renewal was iminent so she just called direct line told them she had a better quote from the net (confused com) She was transferred to another representative and Direct Line met the price just like that

It was take it or leave it.

When I renewed with Greenlight I actually did have a lower quote from Elephant, they didn't ask for proof of it either, up to them I guess although it does make you wonder just how far you could get it reduced

WOW!
I mihgt have to try that when mine is up for renewal in July :-D

I have mine with greenlight and i pay £699 fully comp but as i had a accident in November (all be it not my fault as she hit me up the arse at lights so i REALLY couldnt do anything) i fear that i may be charged extra as people have told me that it will go up as i am more of a risk i started SCREAMING at my friend i said " BUT IT WASNT MY FAULT" as this case is now with the lawers due to injury etc etc i have been told that it should go down from my point of view as a NO-FAULT accident.

Anyone got any views on this at all?

From my experience when an object fell off a works van (8ft by 4ft roof sheet) and hit my car damaging the front wing, it was travelling the opposite way by the way. It was recorded as a non fault claim but this still affected my insurance premiums. The quotes were always less when not disclosed.
Also I have actually had better quotes than my renewal quote and when I have rung the current insurer at the time they have said every time "sorry we can't beat that quote!" thus I have swopped and changed insurers.

Glad someone else has had better luck with fake quotes!!
He He!!!

In Denmark when you say that you were holding at full stop, and with your weight on the brake pedal(and the lights flashed), and you were not pushed into another car (what we call harmonica- accident) you are not to be blamed for the accident.
Though I have also heard of people being put up in insurance if they have just recieved a formula to fill out for ex. to report a stolen bike, and never send it because of some reason, so be aware out there before contacting any insurance company.

Regards

When companies do this it p*sses me off. Why should it matter to them who the company is? The only thing that should matter is that someone's prepared to do a deal to get my business - and are they prepared to try to keep me.

When I say I've got a better deal somewhere else and I'm asked who's doing it I've never told them - and to be fair to most places they haven't pushed me for a reply.
