The Fiat Coupe Club UK is run by a team of club members.  Positions on the Committee are elected by the members at the club’s AGM, held in conjunction with the Summer Event.  The purpose of the club is definite:  The Fiat Coupe Club UK is devoted entirely to promoting, improving, enjoying and (of course) driving the Fiat Coupe. The Committee hold regular meetings throughout the year to discuss the current and future needs of the club.  The minutes are reported regularly in the members section of the forum.  The Committee also work to support the organisation of regular national and regional gatherings and events, negotiate with suppliers to arrange club discounts, and run the club shop selling FCCUK branded items.

The current Committee Members are:

Name: Alexis Grant
Forum Name: Begbie
Position: Club President
Age: 30
Car: 1995 Fiat Coupe 16v (converted to 16v turbo)

Alexis is one of the old timers of the forum having been around since 2001 after seeing a mention for the FCCUK forum in a Redline magazine, when it was still run by James and Kayjey. At the time Alexis was running around in a Fiat Tipo Sedicivalvole as a student at Southampton Institute, but after getting a craving for turbo power, the Tipo underwent a few changes and a coupe 16v turbo engine was put in. The Tipo stayed like this for a few years and developed the rep of 'the brick' on the forum. Finally in 2004 Alexis bought a non running 16v off ebay for a grand. This then became a working car, with the coupe engine going into the Tipo and the turbo engine from the Tipo going into the coupe. The coupe then finally hit the roads around summer 2005, but was short lived (6 weeks!) when a melted piston at a coupe SE meet brought things to an end. Currently the coupe is still off the road, but it is in its final stages of coming back onto the road and running around 400bhp.

Being President of the club, it is Alexis responsibility to help the other board members with their duties of running the club, as without them, there wouldn't be a FCCUK club.

Car: Yellow 16v Turbo

A Santa Clause look alike who lives in Aldershot, Hampshire, he has now owned his yellow16vt for nearly six years and considers it a long term investment and does not foresee selling it.
It is used as a second car, last year it travelled less than 3000 miles, most of which were covered in Belgium and France.

This year could well be similar with a visit to Spa-Francorchamps already in mid June and a coupé based break in France planned for the late summer as well as coupé meets here in the UK.

With any luck it should be back to a single shade of yellow by the end of summer, but he said that last year too.

On the Club front, he is looking after the members’ money as Club Treasurer and plans to keep all members regularly informed of the club’s financial position through the website as well as at the AGM.

Name: Bob Miller
Forum Name: Barmybob
Position: Club Secretary
Age: 44
Car: 1999 Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo

Despite now living and working near Cambridge I am a product of “Gods own county” and can be known to display traits that are often associated with my Yorkshire roots.

I joined the FCCUK forum back in 2003 before buying my first Coupe, and joining the club, early the following year. A FIAT was a big departure for me, a self confessed Audi nut who had been devoted to Audi since 1986. It was initially the five cylinder that lured me to the Coupé but I have now truly fallen for the charms of the little fiat. The Coupé has now become the third car in our household and it now spends much of it’s life covered up and on the trickle charger.

I am a regular at the UK Auto Italia events and many of the other meets, I even take the trip to Spa Italia each year. I also try to host regular evening meets in the Cambridgeshire. If you are interested in the club, or the car, please pop along to one of these meets for a chat.

I have now been serving on the FCCUK club committee since its reformation. When I was approached and asked to be part of the new club committee I was surprised but delighted. I accepted the position on the proviso that the club would always be open and accountable to its membership.

Name: John Vocking
Forum Name: Bockers
Position: Membership Secretary
Age: 44
Car: 1998 Scotts Green Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo

I am 44, married with two children and going bald! I live in Chertsey and work at Heathrow. I have been a Coupé owner for just over 4 years now but on my second coupe, the first, a speed red 20VT, lasted only 4 weeks before someone decided to ignore a red light and use me to stop instead. I use my Coupe every day covering about 14000 miles a year so it has the usual knocks and dents of a daily commute. I do the majority of repair and servicing work but stop short of the big jobs such as cambelt and clutch, trusting the specialists for these items.

I have been a member since I bought one and have been to many events and meets making some great friends through the club and forum some of which I still have never met face to face. I have been a mod for a couple of years and membership secretary for 18 months.

I still love the car and will have it for years to come hopefully. The plan is to keep it as standard as possible, just tidying up the bodywork and interior at present. My dream Coupé would be a Speed Red LE or an Energy Green Plus. If you see a Scots Green Coupe on the M25 the chances are it’s me, give us a wave.

For reasons of national security, no further information can be released at this time. Some people say he is a figment of his own imagination and that at weekends he likes to dress up as a woman. All we know is that if there's a bad joke to be made, you can absolutely 100% guarantee he wont let you down.
