After the LE, things went pretty fast. The 2.0 20v Turbo received a 6-speed 'box, and a big satin gloss push starter button. These were two additions 20v Turbo buyers appreciated a lot. The sides of the Turbo got painted to match in body colour.

Some more research went into the 20v engine and engineers squeezed an extra 7 bhp out of it, meaning an increased top speed of: 215 km/hour (135 miles per hour) as opposed to 212 km/h (132 miles per hour) and 8.4 seconds instead of 8.9 to 100 km (62 miles).

The Plus arrived on the scene receiving the LE bodykit, gearbox, strut brace and cylinder head, a new look front grille, new 8-spoke wheels and a variety of other things: red stitched trim, Recaro seats, silver backgrounds on the dashboard dials, a satin gloss starter button and net and hooks in the boot once again adding to the practicality of the car.
